Ham radio class and licensing opportunity!
The Seattle Auxiliary Communications Service (ACS) team will hold a 2-day, ham radio class on Saturday September 6 and Saturday September 20 at Meadowbrook Community Center in NE Seattle. A licensing exam will be held at the conclusion of class on September 20.
Participants may take the class without taking the license exam or take the exam without taking the class. We will offer all classes of exams if you want to upgrade your license.
Registration for the class is through Seattle Parks & Recreation, and opens August 12: https://anc.apm.activecommunities.com/seattle/activity/search/detail/75164?onlineSiteId=0&from_original_cui=true
There is a $20 registration fee for the class. Please note that this is paid to Seattle Parks & Rec and supports the community center facility, and is not paid to Seattle ACS or the instructors. Scholarships are available.
The exam is $15 and is collected by the exam team at the time of the exam. An FCC license costs $35 and is collected by the FCC at the time a license is granted; an FCC license is valid for 10 years.
